Shepherd Joseph

Furthermore, as God’s children, we must adopt Christ’s mind even in the face of adversity (see 1 Corinthians 2:16), so we cannot be pessimistic. So regardless of our circumstances, we are called to live by faith, not by sight (see 2 Corinthians 5:7) and this faith comes from hearing the Word of God (see Romans 10:17). Many people only claim faith in certain situations, but God is calling us to be different and live by faith in all circumstances.

The good news is that we can overcome worry! We do so by, firstly, being joyful people (see Isaiah 54:1). The response of a child of God in the midst of any situation is praise and worship. This is because some battles are won just by songs of praise; thus, lifting up the name of God has the power to cause our situations to change. Next, we should be people of prayer;

When we pray, we give God the leeway to step into the situation. Many of us, because of worry, have been convinced by the enemy to go and find solutions rather than seeking God first. God answers prayers; He may not answer in a way that pleases us but He still answers! Thus, He is calling us to a place of prayer. It is in these moments of prayer that we see who God is, exposing us to a side of Him that allows us to worship Him.

Finally, we can overcome worry by staying in the right place with the right people. Being in the right place allows us to cultivate the gifts God has given us, thus, He has established places and conditions for us to grow. For example, Hebrews 10:25 tells not to neglect the gathering of the saints (place), and Proverbs 27:17 emphasises that “iron sharpens iron” (condition). If we are not in the right place that God calls us to be in, worry will be our story. In order to be in the right place, we need to consult with God, because where God has called us to be, there we will be fruitful.

There is a call for each of us to enter a place of intimacy and prayer. It’s natural to feel worried because we are humans, but remember that God is greater than what we face. If you truly know Him, you will stand strong and accomplish great things. God doesn’t work alone; He desires to partner with us in the fight. Even when we stumble and sin, He knows and still chooses us because He has made provisions for us through Christ. When we shift our focus from our circumstances to God’s faithfulness, they diminish and He is magnified.

Pastor Elie Humuli

Does the rapture evoke feelings of joy, fear, uncertainty, or indifference in your mind? In 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18, the Apostle Paul speaks about the rapture, warning against ignorance (verse 13) and later emphasising that the words he speaks are from the Lord Himself (verse 15). This urges us to pay special attention to scriptures around rapture and the end times.

The word “rapture” is mentioned nowhere in the Bible; however, its concept is illustrated. In 1 Thessalonians 4:17, the phrase “caught up” is used, referring to “harpazo” in Greek (‘to be taken’). Harpazo describes believers being caught up or taken, which is the rapture in essence. It is the culmination of the first coming of Christ, as the Lamb of God. Fulfilling prophecies, He know fulfilled the promise to reign in Glory with both the dead and alive in Him.

In His second coming, the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world comes as the Lion of Judah to judge. He stops in the air when we are raptured, yet “His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives” when He comes to reign with us and to establish the everlasting Kingdom of Heaven; the kingdom built on the Holiness, righteousness and power of God (Zechariah 14:4; 9)

The rapture, thus, falls in between the first and the second coming of Christ; as it is written in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17, here Jesus will come with a commanding shout. He will be accompanied by “the voice of the archangel” and “the sound of a trumpet,” and in an instance, all believers (the church) will be taken up and transformed into a new body to be with the Lord forever.

As the salt is to perishable goods to be preserved, the church in today’s world embodies the manifested presence of God’s, preventing corruption from being rampant (Matthew 5:13). It is the light of the world that the darkness cannot overcome (see Matthew 5:14). keeping evil from prevailing in its full capacity.

However, when we are taken, the church will come to an end and evil will reign, leading to the 7 years of tribulation. Scripture refers to these years as “the great tribulation” (see Matthew 24:21), “the Day of the Lord” (see Isaiah 2:12), “the time of Jacob’s troubles” (see Jeremiah 30:7 ) and “the day of wrath” (see Revelation 6:17).

We can then, confidently stand on the fact that these years will come after the rapture, thus, the rapture is a blessed hope for every believer (see 1 John 3:2-3). It is a blessing that spares us from the day of wrath. Knowing this also encourages us to keep ourselves pure; we do this by seeking first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33). The Will of God is for every single person to be saved, so when we do not teach the rapture, we are robbing the church of sanctification and drawing others to Christ.

Summarily, rapture is a blessed hope that purifies us. It provides us with an escape from the great tribulation. Thus, as Titus 2:11–13 puts it, let us live with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God as we look forward to it. This means that, as Christians, we do not look forward to death but to the glorious transformation of our bodies that will be perfect like Christ’s, to an eternal fellowship with the King of kings (see Philippians 3:20-22). Therefore, be encouraged and filled with joy, brethren, for God chose to save us (see 1 Thessalonians 5:9).

Pastor Elie Hamuli

In the face of violence, harsh life circumstances, and deteriorating social morals, we are to have faith in God’s heart, whose love not only shields us from evil now but also spares us from even more trying times to come by offering us an escape through the rapture. Just as everyone, we are all guilty, falling short in front of a just God. Yet, when it comes to repaying sinners, He held off justice, choosing Grace knowing that there is hope for us.

This is how the persisting goodness of God has led many to repentance. God loves you and me in such a way that He has no intention of letting us experience the wrath of His justice before its time. Isaiah 61:1-2 proclaimed the acceptable year of the favor of God and the coming day of vengeance. In Luke 4:18–19, Jesus Christ established the season of favour, available even today, by closing the book before vengeance’s mention, emphasizing God’s intention to address our rebellion with Grace.

Why, then, do we continue to choose rebellion, refusing to turn away from our sins and inviting the justice reserved for the day of wrath? Why do we persist in clinging to what leads to destruction rather than seeking the life that is freely offered in Christ? The great tribulations in this world—the time of trial spoken of in Revelation 3:10—are meant to test those who belong to the world, those who have rejected Christ and refused His call. These trials are not for the faithful, but for those who have yet to believe. Do not be among them!

Paul urges us in 2 Corinthians 13:5 to examine ourselves and test whether we are truly in the faith. This is not a passive suggestion but a call to action—a challenge to ensure that we are not deceiving ourselves about the state of our souls. This is a call to self-reflection, not to breed doubt but to inspire repentance and renewal. Don’t let the flesh fool you; instead, give yourself over to the Holy Spirit.

The end times will come, but not before the church is raptured—taken up by Christ to be with Him forever! This is the blessed hope we hold as His followers (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17). The day is coming when Satan, the deceiver of nations, will be bound and cast into the abyss along with those who follow him. For 1,000 years, he will be imprisoned, powerless to deceive or destroy (Revelation 20:1-3). But even after this, when he is released for a short time to stir up rebellion, the outcome is already determined.

A final war will arise—a battle against the Almighty God. Yet even in what might seem like a “challenge,” our God will triumph with overwhelming power and glory. Satan will face the judgment of the Almighty. His lies, rebellion, and every evil work will be exposed, and he will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). Justice will be served, even for those who choose to reject God.

Throughout history, God has shown His relentless love by providing a way of escape for His people. His heart is not to destroy but to save, and His grace is woven through every story of redemption. He forgives and forgets our sins and writes our names in the book of life when we give our lives to Christ. As the world is destroyed, we will reign with God for eternity. Enjoyment will be unprecedented, and we will experience new ways of living. We gather in fellowship with other believers to be refined, transformed, and radiate the glorious light of Christ Jesus. Together, we grow in His truth, strengthen one another in faith, and become living reflections of His grace and love. Let us embrace this divine call, walking in unity and allowing His light to shine through us for the world to see!

Pastor Elie Hamuli

From generation to generation, people have awaited the coming of Jesus to fetch His people, known to us as the “rapture.” Many, including Christians, have grown impatient to the point of making fun of this coming. However, 2 Peter 3:8–9 explains that Jesus is still coming but waiting for all of us to repent and come into the kingdom. His delay is a demonstration of His love and compassion.

The times and dates of the rapture are unknown; the day will fall upon humanity, as the Scriptures say, “like a thief in the night.” 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 therefore ushers us into the assurance that the rapture is a blessed hope for us Christians. As the day of appointment draws near, fellowship is not only necessary but essential. When the rebellious world cries out and faces the stark truth and reality of rapture, the church is saved and set apart, spared from the wrath (see 1 John 3:2-3).

Indeed, the church is a wonderful mystery tied to the saving Grace of God as we navigate prophecy. The Greek word for church is “Ecclesia,” which means to be “taken out of” or “set apart.” We see God providing an escape for his people: for Noah when He flooded the whole world; for Lot and his family when He burnt the whole of Sodom and Gomorrah; and for Enoch as well, by sparing him from death. As members of Christ’s church, an escape from the 7 years of tribulations has been provided through the rapture.

All followers of Christ can look forward to the wonderful day. Our response is not one of fear but of joy because of Jesus’ coming. While we wait, we are not called to laziness but to test ourselves and see if we are in the faith (see 2 Corinthians 13:5). Many will have a form of Christianity but are not Christians—the bridesmaids that accompany the bride yet are not married. These are professing Christians but not possessing Christians—professing to be followers of Christ yet not possessing His Faith.

2 Corinthians 13:5 encourages us to live out our salvation by anchoring to its very source—the Word of God—wherein we renew our hearts and minds. Those who falsely portray the faith of Christ will miss rapture because, as much as they can deceive people, they cannot fool Jesus. He discerns the ignorance or the iniquity behind every action.

These times prepare the establishment of the Kingdom of God, spoken about by all the prophets, including John the Baptist, until Christ came and proclaimed Grace. Where darkness once reigned, we anticipate a future governed by the Kingdom of Justice, Peace, and Holiness (Isaiah 9:6-7)! Even though the Kingdom of Heaven is spiritual right now, it will eventually become physical, just as its effects are in the present.

But until then, the antichrist will rule openly and publicly for everyone to see during the great tribulations, yet the message about the Kingdom of Heaven will be preached once again, prevailing in those who would have not hardened their hearts. Jesus, who will now rule as King over the earth, will come with the church to judge evil and its actors, putting an end to the kingdom of darkness and its deliberate followers. To the church, glorified bodies, like Jesus Christ’s, will be given (see Philippians 3:20–21). Because of all this, we know that what is free for us through salvation was expensive for God on the Cross; let us not take this gift of redemption for granted, but let us fully seize it, for salvation is today!

Pastor Joshua Kiluba

Reading Ephesians 3:14–15, the Apostle Paul prays on behalf of the church. As he blesses the body of Christ, he points out that the Father (God) is the source of the names of all families, both in heaven and on earth. Further down, the passage in Ephesians 5:31–32 further captures how a man leaves his family to be wedded (joined) to his bride—a great mystery that shed lights on Christ and the church, His bride.

When we speak about mysteries, we speak about the spirit of discovery. While not every mystery is profound, those that are hold valuable principles. When these principles are discovered, they bring great joy, provision, and sustenance to the one who receives them. Self-discovery is one of the greatest mysteries. Once you discover yourself, the world will recognize your uniqueness as it seeks out unique experiences.

Therefore, our aim should never be to fit in with someone else’s style or adhere to global trends. The fact about trends is that they have an expiration date, just like a certified copy. Trends eventually fade; thus, to truly discover yourself, you must first discover who Christ is. By going deeper in your understanding of Christ, you can unlock your own identity, bringing you great stability.

Joy plays an essential role in this journey. When you discover who Christ is, you also find joy. People often find happiness in different contexts and through unfavourable means. Drugs and alcohol are two examples; the use of these two substances can lead to depression. They harm the user’s wellbeing to the point of impairing judgment. How can someone know what God has already given them if they drown in their thoughts? Thus, there is only one true delight and that is in Christ!

Moreover, a joyful person is effective in managing relationships. People hang around the source of contagious joy in the room. By the same breadth, A healthy family life holds together when joy is the ingredient. The atmosphere of joy breeds a field of breakthroughs. Before the breakthrough comes the singing, a response to joy and a precursor for blessing, as highlighted in Isaiah 54:1-3 and James 5:13.

Finally, in accordance with James 5:13, when in troubles, pray; when happy, sing songs of praise! Be joyful, always! The term “be” takes its roots from the Creator, Elohim, who brings into existence. It is a reminder to put on Joy, a gift freely given to you through Jesus! Rejoice in the Lord!

Pastor Elie Hamuli We are transferred spiritually from darkness into light when we give our lives to Christ (see 1 Peter 2:9). Even though we are saved on the inside,…

Pastor Elie Hamuli

We are transferred spiritually from darkness into light when we give our lives to Christ (see 1 Peter 2:9). Even though we are saved on the inside, there are factors around us that affect the expression of our “inner man.” Thus, this exchange is not just spiritual but requires a physical environment that supports our spiritual growth. Just as the sick heal promptly in a hospital due to the controlled care they receive, our spiritual maturity is enhanced when we engage in fellowship, prayer, and the study of God’s Word within a supportive community.

God places us in a spiritual family—a church, which serves as a community, a school (that helps us study and know the Word of God) and a hospital (where the healing of physical and spiritual sickness takes place at the level of our souls). It is within this family that we grow, learn, and heal.

The concept of spiritual fathers, though often misunderstood or misused, remains a valid and important aspect of spiritual growth. A spiritual father, appointed by God, guides and nurtures us in our spiritual journey, much like how Paul mentored Timothy (see 1 Timothy 1:2). We do not choose a spiritual father but God appoints them. However, the choice to become sons and daughters rests on us to God appointed figures.

How then shall we know that we are headed in the right direction, growing spiritually within the fellowship of those who love and seek God? In the next paragraph, let us briefly learn about the signs of spiritual maturity as Christians.

Growth and Dependency

Spiritual maturity is not about independence but rather growing in dependence on God. Spiritually, God desires us to become more like children, as this is how we truly grow. This perspective contrasts with mere human logic, where growth is often measured by our increasing independence.

Serving Others and Serving Faithfully in a Local Church

True maturity is demonstrated when we serve others selflessly (see Matthew 23:11). From a godly viewpoint, such service elevates us. This differs from our worldly understanding—where greatness is typically associated with having authority and the power to make demands rather than to serve. Faithful service within the church also signals maturity. “Faithfully” here is used purposefully, as there are people who serve everywhere. When we do not stand for anything, we fall for everything.

A Teachable Spirit and Accountability

Maintaining a teachable spirit is a hallmark of maturity (see 1 Corinthians 8:1-2). We should avoid being full of ourselves and remain open to learning from anyone at any time, which aligns closely with the principle of accountability. Being accountable to spiritual leaders is equally important, as it shows our willingness to be guided. Even Hebrews 13:17 emphasises the need for us to enable our leaders to guide us joyfully for this is essential for the prosperity of our souls.

Spiritual maturity is not about being sharp or ready to fight (see Proverbs 25:15); rather, it involves using Godly language that is gracious and wise (see Colossians 4:5-6).

Giving offerings or tithes, reflects our recognition of God as our provider (see Hebrews 7:1-2). Tithing is more about acknowledging God’s provision and worshipping Him than it is about money. In everything God provides, there is a portion that belongs to God first, a portion for us, and a portion for others.

Prayer and Meditation Time

Finally, dedicating personal time to prayer and meditation is a key aspect of our spiritual growth and a sign of our maturity.

In summary, spiritual growth requires collaboration with God, discipline, and active participation in the life of the church. As we grow, we become more dependent on God, serve others with humility, and live a life that honours the Lord in all aspects.

Pastor Elie Hamuli

It is evident that God is deeply involved in the business of good financial management. Over two thousand verses and fifteen percent of Christ’s teaching tackle the management of money and possessions. Money is a significant aspect of our lives, and God desires us to be wise in managing it. When we understand that we are stewards of the finances He has given us (read Deuteronomy 8:18), we will seek His instructions on how to manage it. This will allow us to be faithful in our storehouses and work diligently and as a result, we will be blessed and be a blessing to others (see Deuteronomy 28:8)!

Money serves as a medium of exchange and is a “storer” of value, giving us the ability to operate. In Ecclesiastes 9:16, money is described as a master, giving us a voice, position, and influence. Jesus Christ acknowledges the masterhood and dangers of money, basically stating that it can become a rival to Him (see Matthew 6:24). Ecclesiastes 5:10 states that people who love money are never satisfied, revealing how the love of money can manipulate our joy and even destroy our lives. It is powerful enough to affect people’s emotions and has led many to do unlawful things. As 1 Timothy 6:10 puts it, “the love of money is the root of all evil” and as a result, many people have strayed from the faith. This is the agenda of Satan!

There are two things that masters claim from their servants; love and devotion. Money has the power to corrupt our love and devotion for God. It cannot make us submit to Him because it is selfish and can never make us serve God. Yet, God has the power to submit money to us. A much more sinister danger is that money seeks our love in order to destroy us. Yet God expects our love as a response to His safe and sure love for us.

There is a solution that Jesus Christ gives us, found in Matthew 6:33. We are encouraged to “seek first the kingdom of God”, as it provides the solution to avoid falling into the slavery of money. In other words, the solution is found in what we place our focus and priority on. When we prioritise money and the pursuit of it over God, we can end up compromising our spiritual work, making us chase after, and work for money. Thus, it is important to remember that God is gracious enough to make money submit to us, adding it to our lives when we set our priorities right.

God’s wisdom in the season of abundance is that we sow in the gospel. This is the best investment to make, as it sets our priorities right and allows money to serve us rather than us serving it. This allows us to remain in and enjoy the abundance. Haggai 1:1-10 illustrates how the people of Israel did not enjoy the abundance because they neglected the building of the temple and the work of God that needed to be done. God’s needs must draw our attention, as His needs will meet all our needs. The things He will do for us are incomparable to what we can do for Him!

Matthew 6:21 also encourages us to invest our valuable things in the kingdom of God, as it provides safety. Our hearts will always pursue what we value, revealing where our priorities lie. We have a sure and everlasting harvest when we invest in the kingdom of God. So let us be encouraged, in light of Matthew 6:19-20, to use our valuable resources like money, time, and gifts to serve God. By submitting our resources to serve God, they will no longer control us. This is also why we pay our tithes -10% of our revenue. The idea is not in the amount itself but in our focus. When we receive money, we need to consider what our first priority is before we do anything else because God is in the position we give Him, not in the amount!

Anything that we submit to God, won’t rule over us and the best way to submit is to give Him first. Similarly, when we submit our bodies to serve Him, our flesh won’t rule over us. God does not compete for what we have because He gave us everything, He competes for position because anything we pursue first has the power to control our lives. Therefore, we are not called to just seek the kingdom, but to seek it FIRST, and everything else shall be added to us.

Pastor Elie Hamuli

James 5:15–18 tells us of how Elijah, an ordinary man, prayed an effective, and fervent prayer, which was answered, and the results were powerful. With results far beyond his capacity, It demonstrates that it’s also possible for us to render prayers that yield such results. Prayer is a central element of our relationship with Jesus Christ and there is much to learn from Elijah’s story for our benefit in this regard.

While prayer gives us a happy feeling, James 5:15–18 shows that ultimately, we pray to hear back from God. We communicate with God in prayer, expecting a response from Him. Teaching His disciples in Matthew 6:9–13, Jesus Christ shows us that, as children, effective prayer gets a response because it seeks for God’s will to be done in all circumstances.

Being specific in who we stand in front of in prayer, and specific in our plea, is what gives prayer its power. Just as Elijah, who had a relationship with God and was considered righteous, gave a plea, we are confident in our prayers because we stand in front of the Maker of Heaven and Earth, the faithful and living God!

Thus, He empowered us to pray in His name because He promised that if we asked for anything in His name, we would receive it (see John 14:14).

In James 5:17 Elijah was called earnest in a prayer offered without fasting, shouting, or going for hours (1 King 17:1). Simply founded on the will of God and anchored in the covenant he kept as a righteous person, he brought about God’s will against those who willfully departed from God’s mercy. The result, three long years with no rain! In the old covenant of justice and judgment, the earnest prayer easily brought judgment, yet it took a lot in prayer to bring out grace and see the rain return (see 1 Kings 17: 1 in comparison to 1 Kings 18: 42-44).

The earnestness of prayer is founded on the covenant of God and His people. In the new covenant of mercy and grace, Jesus Christ is our qualification, taking away the punishment that was for us so that we may be left with all the spiritual blessings (Hebrews 8: 12). Therefore, praying fervently in the new covenant becomes a declaration of our knowledge of the finished work of the cross: healing, forgiveness, the glorious riches of God, His protection, and grace (see Ephesians 1).

Similarly, we pray earnestly when we pray in the truth of the new covenant with God, wherein blessings and judgement no longer depend on our good or bad works, for Christ took on our judgment and availed blessings for anyone who believes in Him. The Holy Spirit, who bears witness to Truth, intercedes for an answer to the Father according to the covenant, making our request effective (see Romans 8:27; John 4:23). Yet, in an old covenant mindset, we hinder ourselves in begging God in emotions for what He calls us to declare over our lives and circumstances.

Therefore, let us pray with an understanding of what makes prayer fervent, so that we may live in the grace and mercy of the New Covenant.
Pastor Joshua Kiluba

James 5:16 emphasises that prayer is effective, meaning it is powerful. To further this point, there is a noteworthy aspect in praying loudly. Just as there is a season to pray quietly, there are also seasons to arise and pray aloud. Loud prayers echo the enormity of what the Holy Spirit has birthed in us. These fervent prayers yield spiritually loud effects, shaking the visible realm. Moreover, these prayers are effective when the children of God are under threat as we will learn below.

By offering loud prayers with praise, Paul and Silas reflect the effect of prayer that went as far as freeing even those who were guilty from prison (see Acts 16:25-26). Job also illustrates the power of prayer as he cried aloud to “His Redeemer, who lives” and was delivered (see Job 19:25). Similarly, Jesus Christ Himself made a loud prayer at the Cross, which had a powerful impact on the earth, causing it to shake, splitting rocks, tearing the Temple in two and causing tombs to open (see Matthew 27:50-52).

However, we are still doing less by praying louder or longer. The power of our prayer does not compare equally to the sound of our voice. God, who does exceedingly above what we can ask or think, amplifies our weak cries so that they may match the power at work within us, producing effects of divine magnitude (Ephesians 3: 20-21).

Thus, the power and effect of prayer will always outweigh the sound of our voice. Since there is a time for loud, effective prayer, let us not hold back, but continue to echo the power at work in us. And when a brother or a sister’s fire has gone down, let us be the iron that sharpens and encourages another to pray loudly (see Proverbs 27:17; Matthew 18:19-20).

Pastor Joshua Kiluba

Prayer is a powerful way to communicate with God. It is also an effective way to overcome all suffering, and sickness, while also keeping us from sin. James 5:16 alludes to the importance of fervent prayer, possessing the quality of fire. The account of the Pentecost, amongst other scriptural accounts, reveals that living with the fire of God, significantly changes a believer’s life. Through the power and effectiveness of prayer, we set ourselves on the hill as the light of the world, a burning fire casting out darkness and availing hope for the lost.

Through baptism in Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God turns us into vessels of fire. We are therefore the light of the world because Christ lives within us (see Matthew 5:14). When we pray, we release this flame, emitting our light, just as Matthew 17:1-2 teaches us of how the Master transfigured on a mountaintop, shining as white as light, while praying. It is He, who has baptised us with fire and the Holy Spirit, that has empowered us to drive out the darkness and dispossess it, earning what was not ours by faith, through grace (see Matthew 3:11; Ecclessiastes 2:26).

Note that there is no light without fire. This fire of prayer purifies and energises right living and service to God. It is the power of Christ at work within us, which accomplishes infinitely more than what we might ask or think (see Ephesians 3:20-21). By this fire, we overcome all things by faith because the One who is in us is greater than the one in the world (see 1 John 4:4). This is the product of being true lights in Christ. As we shine through prayer, Jesus Christ, the hope of glory, is displayed.

Ultimately, no prayer can be effective without being soaked in the blood of Christ, the Perfect Lamb. James 5:16 highlights righteousness, which we must clothe ourselves with when making fervent prayers. Jesus Christ, the manifestation of God’s Word, sanctifies us by His blood, granting us righteousness. Hence, sin, illness, and suffering are completely overcome by prayers offered in the sanctification of the blood of Christ that grant righteousness. We gladly live out this righteousness by confessing our sins, making requests for one another to God, and enjoying the power of His Word in our youth (Psalms 119: 9).

So, when the blood of Christ intervenes, the prayers of the righteous have great power. In Exodus, plagues did not subdue Pharaoh and the Egyptians until the blood of the lamb was dripping on their door frames (see chapters 7-12). Furthermore, Pharaoh was swallowed up by the Red Sea – a symbol that represents the same blood that saved the Israelites in Egypt and delivered them from Pharaoh’s pursuit. With the same blood that destroyed the enemy, God also sanctified His people. Paralleling the end of the Israelites captivity, with the blood He defeated the power of sin and death, Jesus Christ sanctified us on the Cross, crying out triumphantly, “It is finished.” (John 19: 30)

This lesson can be applied to our own lives. Key to our ability to pray effectively is our understanding of God’s hand and the power of Jesus Christ’s blood. The same blood that sanctifies us also takes away our problems, just as it did for the Israelites. Furthermore, God will use the Red Sea in front of us – the issue ahead – to swallow up the Egyptians after us – the issue behind us. Therefore, let us be fervent in prayer and become the light we are called to be, accomplishing and overcoming all things through Christ, who lives within us.
